The Qingdao Botanical Garden is a comprehensive tourist landscape integrating scientific research, popular science, flower and tree cultivation, and sightseeing, mainly featuring ornamental plants such as forest trees and flowers. The garden gathers more than 1,000 varieties of various flowers and trees with high ornamental value, including more than 400 species of herbaceous plants and more than 600 species of woody plants.
The main varieties include Machilus thunbergii, Metasequoia glyptostroboides, cherry blossoms, Rhododendron obtusum, and Camellia japonica. Here is also the planting and protection base of Camellia japonica. The botanical garden is adjacent to Zhongshan Park and the zoo on the west, adjacent to Jvlin Park on the north, adjacent to the Revolutionary Martyrs Memorial Hall and Zhanshan Temple on the east, and facing Badaguan on the south. Inside the garden, there are scenic spots such as Forest Paradise, Fine Plant Garden, Sino-Japanese Friendship Garden, French Building, Tingtao Pavilion, and waterside pavilion. In addition to learning various knowledge about plants, there are also exciting projects such as fitness and amusement, such as rock climbing, racing cars, pirate ships, forest hunting grounds, and water projects such as laser water warships.
